Welcome to O&O

Restaurant O&O unites family, tradition, and refined gastronomy. Awarded a Michelin star in 2018, our cuisine reflects the rich roots of Helena and Danny Tsang from Malaysia and Hong Kong. The second generation, led by Levi Bunt and Mike Tsang, gives this tradition a contemporary twist, while Monica and Wendy Tsang provide warm and personal hospitality. This creates an experience that is both familiar and innovative.

Danny and Helena Tsang opened their restaurant Nieuw Hong Kong in Sint Willebrord in 1982. It may have been just another Chinese eatery at first, but the owners' ambitions evolved over time and they set their sights on showcasing the true finesse of Asian cuisine. And they have been successful in their quest: today, they invite diners to embark on a culinary voyage from Japan via Hong Kong and China to Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Chef Danny's cooking style fuses tradition with creativity. Sweet, sour, zesty and umami flavors are precisely balanced in subtle combinations. He creates exciting dishes in which exotic seasonings meet French techniques for an extra layer of sophistication. East and West become one here. The chef's expertise is evident in his house-made gochujang, his Sichuan chilli sauce, the crispy fried shallot and the star anise and five-spice-flavored cooking juices that accompany his Beijing-style barbary duck. His daughter Monica's expertly chosen wine pairings elevate this delightful dining experience (the wine room itself is a sight to behold). The premium tea selection serves as an equally ideal accompaniment, allowing the subtle nuances of the dishes to truly shine. The Tsang family are proud ambassadors of Asia's culinary richness.

O&O, or Oriental & Original, remains a distinctive restaurant in the Dutch culinary world in several respects. Since 1982, Danny and Helena Tsang have been consistently bringing flavor and form to an Asian cuisine that features dishes from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Japan. This broad and meticulously crafted repertoire of exquisite dishes offers diners a particularly wide selection and a sense of well-being. Together with his son and sous chef Mike, and with Levi Bunt as head chef, Danny Tsang creates a uniquely inspired cuisine, while daughters Monica and Wendy, along with their mother, warmly welcome and attentively serve guests. Xiao Long Bao as a starter immediately sets the right tone and, above all, provides a wonderful preview of what follows. Examples of this delicious cuisine include ham sui gok, a delicately prepared frog legs in a rice dumpling, and lobster with nasi kuning and sambal matah.

O&O in Sint Willebrord is known for its tranquil atmosphere and perfectly executed dishes. The Tsang family serves a refined blend of Asian flavors and culinary perfection, such as the Singapore lobster and Ibérico loin with Balinese sauce.
